Who we are
In the reference of GoMs No:01, the Director of Town & Country Planning has requested the Government for constitution of Eluru Urban Development Authority (EUDA), with a jurisdiction of 35 Mandals covering 463 villages and nine (09) Urban Local Bodies i.e., Eluru Municipal Corporation, Kovvuru, Nidadavole, Tadepalligudem, Tanuku, Narsapur, Palacole, Bhimavaram Municipalities and Jagareddygudem Nagarapanchayath with an extent of 3327.998 Sq.Kms and population of 27,60,160 as per 2011 census with Head Quarters at Eluru of Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities Act, 2016.
Government after careful examination of the matter have decided to declare the area of 3327.998 Sq. Kms covering Eluru Municipal Corporation, Kovvuru, Nidadavole, Tadepalligudem, Tanuku, Narsapur, Palacole, Bhimavaram Municipalities, Jagareddygudem Nagarapanchayath and 463 villages in 35 Mandals in West Godavari District as given in notification – I and constitute Eluru Urban Development Authority (EUDA) with Head Quarter at Eluru as given in notification – II.
The ELUDA region is one of the strategically located region of Eluru District and Andhra Pradesh State. It contributes significantly to the District economy and as well as to the State’s economy in several aspects and is expected to play significant role in coming days.
This region is well connected with other parts of the country by road, rail and airways. The National Highways connecting Chennai, Bengaluru and Amaravati/ Vijayawada are passing through this region.
